Man charged in fatal North Stormont vehicle rollover

NORTH STORMONT — A 25-year-old man was charged yesterday in connection with a vehicle rollover that took the life of an 18-year-old woman in North Stormont this past summer.

The SD&G OPP reports that South Glengarry resident Kevin Gent, 25, was arrested  Oct. 20 and charged with Operation causing Death.

According to the detachment, Gent was behind the wheel of an eastbound passenger vehicle on County Rd. 43, which left the roadway and rolled over into the ditch between Country Rd. 20 and Pigeon Hill Rd. His passenger, Logan Sunday, 18, of South Glengarry, died at the scene of the July 20 single-vehicle collision. Police responded to the scene shortly after 4:35 a.m.

The accused was released to appear Nov. 28 in Cornwall court.
