Impaired driver crashes at roundabout
SOUTH DUNDAS — An SD&G OPP officer attended a single vehicle collision at the County Road 2 roundabout in Iroquois, shortly after midnight on Oct. 27. Investigation indicated that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver then refused to complete standard testing requested by the officers.
Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a suspected controlled substance (methamphetamine) and was driving under suspension.
According to the SD&G OPP, Allan Castelman, 52, of South Dundas, was arrested and is charged with:
• Failure or refusal to comply with demand
•Drive while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
•Possession of a controlled substance
•Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available (Cannabis Act)
He was released to appear Nov. 14 in Morrisburg court.
Charges laid relating to theft
NORTH DUNDAS — A theft at a North Dundas business was reported around 9:30 a.m. on October 25.
Investigation indicated that the culprit attended the location and removed furniture.
Kevin Galbraith, 43, of Augusta Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Theft under $5000
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to a court appearance in Morrisburg court on December 9.
