Obituary — Marjorie Coughler

Marjorie Jean Parslow Boa Coughler
(January 6, 1925 – October 29, 2019)

Passed away peacefully at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville in her 95th year. Born in Brockville area to Mabel and Horton Parslow, third child of five. She is survived by her sisters Helen (Blake) and Mildred (Clow) and predeceased by Claude and Dorothy (Friesen). She was raised on a dairy farm near Lyn. She attended high school at Brockville Collegiate Institute and then trained to be a nurse. Working in Brockville, she met Dwight Boa and they married shortly after. They settled on a farm near Cardinal and were blessed with four daughters; Marcia (Johnstone), Doreen (Zeron), Cheryl Lynne (Graham) and Jackie (Boa). After Dwight’s passing, she married Percy Coughler and had a son, Peter. They ran a dairy and mixed farm. Always an animal lover, she cared for many a sick or wounded animal. Other passions included gardening, picking berries, knitting and painting. Known as mom, ma or mother by many and loved dearly by her grandchildren: Rhonda (Pinon), Beth (Johnstone); Patty (McLaughlin); Tammy (Chartrand), Samantha (Cook), Becky (Van Allen); Caitlin, Alysha and Jeremy Coughler; 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

Visitation will be held at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home, Cardinal, on Saturday, November 2 at 1 p.m. Funeral service and internment will follow at 3 p.m. Donations to the Humane Society, Wall Street United Church or a charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
