Police recover body in St. Lawrence River at Iroquois, foul play not suspected

SOUTH DUNDAS — Scuba divers turned up the body of a 20-year-old Ottawa man in the St. Lawrence River off Galop Canal Marina in Iroquois on Saturday.

SD&G OPP officers responded to the discovery before 1 p.m. on Nov. 23. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was called in and recovered the body.

A post mortem was conducted to determine the man’s cause of death.

Update: Foul play is not suspected, the detachment reported in a Nov. 26 release that also identifies the deceased as Adam Cloutier, 20.

OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Chief Coroner investigated with the assistance of the SD&G OPP Crime Unit.
