Traffic complaints save a life; man charged with assault

Traffic complaint leads to driver taken to the hospital

ROCKLAND — Russell County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Champlain St., Rcokland, around 9:20 a.m. on November 24. 

Investigation revealed that the driver was in a medical crisis. The Emergency Medical Services of Prescott-Russell attended and transported the driver to the hospital.

The officers were later notified that their intervention saved the driver’s life.

 

Disturbance leads to charges

CASSELMAN — Russell County OPP officers responded to a disturbance at a residence shortly before 8 a.m.on Nov. 29 on Calypso Street, in Casselman.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between three adults.

 As a result of the investigation, Joel Dugas, 21-years-old, of Casselman, was charged with:

  • Two counts of Assault CC 266
  • Two counts of Failure to Comply with Recognizance CC 145(3) 
  • Three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order CC 733.1(1) 

 

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on a later date.
