Duncan and dad in ‘cuffs — for charitable campaign slated Jan. 11 at Winchester Foodland

NORTH DUNDAS — Local MP Eric Duncan and his father, Ed, were ‘arrested’ this morning in advance of the annual Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers fundraiser at Winchester Foodland.

Nabbed by SD&G OPP Const. Tylor Copeland, the Duncan duo will cool their heels Jan. 11 in a Coke-case jail cell while wearing 250 pairs of handcuffs. The event, coinciding with Crime Stoppers Month, starts 10 a.m. and lasts until enough donations come in to free the prisoners.

For each $10 donation, a pair of cuffs will be removed from their bodies. Coke has donated the holding cell that will keep both men away from their usual respective stomping grounds on Parliament Hill and the offices of JED Express.

Police say the Duncans are “begging for your help as they don’t want to spend the entire day in handcuffs!”
