Victim identified in Gilmour Street homicide investigation

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Major Crime Unit has identified the victim of yesterday morning’s shooting on Gilmour St, as Manyok Akol, 18, of Ottawa.  

Three other people were injured as a result of the shooting at the Airbnb including a 15-year-old male, a 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old male. All remain in hospital in serious condition.

Gilmour Street remains closed between Kent and Lyon while the investigation continues.

Police remind the public to respect the safety perimeter in place at the shooting scene. The perimeter was established to protect the scene and the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
