Video released showing two persons of interest in Gilmour Street shooting

OTTAWA — The city’s police force has released a video of two individuals in connection with its investigation into last week’s deadly shooting on Gilmour St.

The Ottawa Police Major Crime Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying the duo captured on camera as they ran down a sidewalk.

Police describe the first individual as wearing red/orange pants and light blue with jacket/hooded sweatshirt, and the second individual as wearing red/orange pants, dark jacket and dark shoes.

Major Crime investigators are also looking for any available surveillance video that nearby residents may have at hand or dash cam footage obtained in the area between 7 and 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 8.

Manyok Akol, 18, was shot and killed at the 490 Gilmour St. AirBnB that morning. Three other young men sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police say one has been released from hospital, with the other two victims continuing to recover in hospital.
