RUSSELL — How about some extra cash for a winter getaway, or paying off those holiday bills or a down payment on a home? The current “Catch the Ace” lottery, the third licence sponsored by the Kin Club of Russell, is growing quickly. The reason for this rapid growth? Six local charities: Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Breast Cancer Action Ottawa, Osgoode Care Centre, Russell Minor Hockey Association, Valoris Foundation and Winchester District Memorial Hospital Foundation have expanded both the area and reach for this popular progressive lottery.
The jackpot is anticipated to reach over $30,000 for the January 19, draw. The Kin Club of Russell holds its weekly draw on Sundays, 3:15 p.m. at Étienne Brûlé Brewery on Notre Dame St. in Embrun.
As a first, the Kin Club of Russell developed an online version of the extremely popular lottery offered in many communities. Supporters of local charities can get their online tickets every week by going to https://kinclubofrussell.ca where they can choose one specific charity or all charities. Tickets can only be purchased only if you are in Ontario and over 18 years of age.
