Numerous charges laid after multiple altercations in Casselman

Domestic dispute leads to numerous charges

CASSELMAN — A domestic dispute occurred around 9:30 a.m. on January 18 on Principale Street, Casselman. 

 The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between three adults.

 As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old, from Ottawa, was charged with:

  • Three counts of Assault – Spousal CC 266;
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a);
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle CC 267(c);
  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence CC 348(1)(b) and
  • Four counts of Mischief – destroys or damages property CC 430(1)(a) 

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court at a later date.

 

Two adults charged for numerous offences

CASSELMAN — Russell police were called to a disturbance on Calypso Street in Casselman shortly before 8:45 p.m. on January 19.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between three adults.

As a result of the investigation, Mario Parent, 27, from Casselman was charged with:

  • Assault CC 266 and
  • Two counts of failure to Comply with Probation Order CC 733.1(1) 

Joel Dugas, 21-years-old, of Casselman was charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon CC 267(a);
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a) and
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order CC 733.1(1)

The accused are scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court at a later date.
