Charges laid in S. Stormont and S. Glengarry for domestic assault, impaired driving, and stunt driving

Domestic Assault

SOUTH STORMONT — A domestic situation occurred shortly after 7 a.m. in South Stormont on January 29.

Police say that the accused 29-year-old male assaulted his partner several times.

The male, 29, of South Stormont, was arrested and is charged with;

– Two counts of Assault

– Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on February 18.

 

Impaired Driver

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A 21-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving after a single vehicle collision occurred around 10 p.m., January 28, on County Rd. 34, South Glengarry. 

Police investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of a drug.

Frederic Kustcher, 21, of Saint Zotique, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – Drugs

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on March 4.

 

Super Speeder

SOUTH STORMONT — While conducting a speed trap on January 29, SD&G OPP stopped a vehicle travelling 128km/h on Boundary Rd, a 70km/h zone, around 10 p.m. 

The 20-year-old driver from Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

The vehicle was impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven days.
