Vandalism
IROQUOIS — SD&G OPP are investigating after the Iroquois Beach Building was vandalized. It was reported to police shortly before 9 p.m. on January 31. Investigation revealed that the unknown culprit(s) had spray painted graffiti on the side of the building (see photo). An investigation continues.
Super Speeders
SD&G — Several vehicles were stopped for traveling at excessive speeds during a speed trap conducted by SD&G OPP, January 31 to February 2.
SOUTH STORMONT — A 25-year-old driver from Toronto was stopped travelling 157km/h in a 100km/h zone on Highway 401 shortly after 8 p.m. on January 31.
SOUTH DUNDAS — A driver, 18, from Ajax, was stopped traveling 152km/h in a 100km/h zone on Highway 401 shortly before 1 a.m. on February 2.
SOUTH STORMONT — A 29-year-old driver from Ontario was stopped travelling 154km/h in a 100km/h zone on Highway 401 shortly before 10 p.m. on January 31.
The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven days in accordance with policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
Impaired charges
MORRISBURG — A 30-year-old female was charged after SD&G OPP conducted a traffic stop on Ottawa St. in Morrisburg on February 2. Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Ashley Banks of North Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with:
– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on March 3.
