Berwick resident turned $1 into $100,000 ENCORE win

BERWICK — Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Rodney Beckstead of Berwick. Rodney matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the January 28, LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000.

“At first, I thought I won $100,” shared Rodney, a self-employed landscaper and handyman, while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up his cheque. “I was trembling. I’m so excited and happy!”

The 50-year-old plans to invest his windfall into his business.

“I will buy some new equipment and continue playing the lottery,” concluded Rodney.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Brookdale Avenue in Cornwall.
