Local 27-year-old male deceased after striking transport on Hwy. 401 last evening

MALLORYTOWN — Leeds County OPP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and transport truck. 

OPP officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision shortly before 7 p.m. last night, February 17, at the Mallorytown westbound 401 on-ramp.

According to police, the driver of the car was observed entering Highway 401, westbound before striking the rear of a transport truck that was stationary on the shoulder of the road. 

The deceased has been identified as Brady Scrivener, 27, of Lyn, formerly of Morrisburg, was a lone occupant and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The transport truck driver did not sustain any injuries.

Leeds County OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) and a Collision Reconstructionist. 

A partial Highway closure was in place until about 1:15 this morning.
