CHESTERVILLE — The flick featuring Mel Gibson is being shot at the 171 Main Street North former Nestlé plant today, a casting agent has confirmed for Nation Valley News.

The Braveheart star plays Santa Claus in Fatman, an action comedy that has been filming at various locations in the Ottawa Valley this winter.

Now owned by IDP Group, the former instant-coffee factory buzzed with activity last night and again this morning, with numerous vehicles coming and going from the site and parked behind the gates. A temporary sign out front directs crew onto the property.

Smyth Casting of Ottawa’s Facebook page indicates they still need extras to play elves in the production. Individuals need to be under 5’6″ in height, with opportunities to suit up today (Feb. 20) and Feb. 26.
