SOUTH MOUNTAIN — A group of former students of Mountain District High School and North Mountain Consolidated School met on February 12 to lay plans toward a student reunion.
Saturday, July 18 is the date set for the event. Gathering will take place in the Ag Hall in South Mountain in the mid-afternoon followed by dinner and entertainment. A brunch will be arranged for the following Sunday morning.
‘It has been 50 years since the school closed and many people are anxious to reacquaint with old friends”, stated Richard Gilmer, chair of the group. “A 25th anniversary was held in 1995 and over 500 persons attended. The alumni are spread throughout the region and the country, so it will be a challenge to make them aware of the plans”.
A Facebook group page is being prepared to make plans known to those interested.
Gilmer requests that former students make their friends and relatives aware of the reunion. Watch for details as the plans finalize in the near future.
