A very successful ‘Night of Entertainment’ raises over $11,800 for WDMH Cancer Care Fund

WINCHESTER — There were many smiles at the sold-out ‘A Night of Entertainment’, held on February 15 at The Old Town Hall in Winchester. Smiles for the comedy and magic shows, great music, refreshments and fun auctions. But most of all, big smiles for the final tally – $11,849.10 raised for the WDMH Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund.

“We are so grateful to Debra MacLean and her committee organizing this special event,” says Cindy Peters, Manager of Events and Direct Mail. “One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the evening will benefit cancer patients at WDMH.”

Debra says she was happy to give back: “For the duration of my treatment, I am very happy to say I received excellent care from nurses, physicians, technicians and additional personnel at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. They all helped to make my journey as easy as possible.”

The evening’s headliner was Andrew Chapman – winner of the Top Canadian Comedy Album Award. Well-known magician David Jans and 60’s Rock Band “The Lads” also performed. There were also light refreshments, silent and live auctions, and a door prize.

Organizers would like to thank everyone who was part of the fun evening.
