Two SUVs recovered and charges laid after traffic stop

SOUTH STORMONT — A stolen vehicle was intercepted by SD&G OPP and Community Street Crime officers while conducting a traffic stop on Hwy. 401, South Stormont, around 9:30 a.m. on March 3. 

Police investigation revealed that a youth driver was in possession of a stolen Gold 2019 Infiniti QX80 SUV from Toronto. Shortly thereafter SD&G OPP officers stopped a second stolen Black 2019 Infiniti Q80 SUV from Toronto, Ontario on Highway 401, South Glengarry, driven by an adult. Both drivers were arrested. 

Olivier Belotte, 19, of Laval, Que. was arrested and charged with; 

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

 

A 17-year-old driver from Laval, Que. was arrested and charged with: 

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

– Failure to comply with conditions of a probation order

 

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Cornwall court. Belotte will appear in court on April 30, and the 17-year-old will appear April 16 in court.
