Assault suspect wears surgical mask and gloves, police seeking assistance

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Section is asking for public assistance to identify the suspect involved in an assault with a weapon that occurred yesterday in the 900 block of Morrison Drive.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on March 24, frontline police responded to a call for service at a residence where a woman in her 30s had just been assaulted. The victim, who answered her door, was immediately assaulted by an unknown male who was wearing a blue surgical mask and white latex gloves. She suffered minor injuries.

Investigators are looking to identify the male suspect who has been described as a French-speaking Middle Eastern male, approx. 20 years of age, 5’8” (173 cm), 173 lbs (78 kg) with a thin build, wearing a dark jacket and dark pants (see photos).
