Lactalis Canada (Parmalat Canada) delivering essential services; wastewater treatment facility update

Notice

Winchester, ON, April 3, 2020 — As of March 23, many Ontario businesses were required to close to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the province. As an important player in the food supply chain, Lactalis Canada’s (Parmalat Canada) Winchester facility has been classified as an essential service, thus allowed to continue operations under additional measures to ensure the health and safety of its workers.

Protecting the health of our employees remains our number one priority. As such, the Winchester plant’s planned upgrades to its wastewater treatment facilities are expected to be delayed. We currently wait for important equipment to be delivered by suppliers to complete these upgrades and need to minimize the influx of non-essential workers on site, which necessarily impacts the expected completion date. Be assured we are in contact with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to take all necessary steps to minimize this delay.

From the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we are thankful our dedicated employees have worked hard to continue living up to our commitment to enrich the lives of Canadians with nutritious dairy products. Our objective is to participate in the overall health and well-being of Canadians, despite the current context. We are therefore committed to supporting our employees and community, keeping production running in our facility while respecting the highest sanitary standards.
