Numerous charges laid after 24-year-old flees police in South Mountain

Impaired driver charged

SOUTH MOUNTAIN — SD&G OPP officer attempted to stop a vehicle following a highway traffic act offence at 11:30 p.m. on April 16, on County Rd 1, South Mountain.

The vehicle then failed to comply with the request to stop and continued on, SD&G OPP officer located the involved a short distance away on Nationview Drive, South Mountain.

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Alexander Smith, 24, of North Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – plus 80

– Flight from Peace officer

– Speeding – 113km/hr in a posted 80km/hr zone

– Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor (LLA)

– Drive motor vehicle, plate improperly displayed (HTA)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on July 7.

 

Domestic mischief

SOUTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation in South Dundas shortly after 4:30 p.m. on April 18. Investigation revealed that an adult accused had caused damage to the residence and threatened the victim.

A 19-year-old accused of South Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief

– Uttering threats

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on June 30.

 

SOUTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Dundas, shortly after 6:30 p.m. on April 18. Investigation revealed that an adult accused had caused damage to the residence.

A 57-year-old accused of South Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;

– Two counts of Mischief 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on June 23.

 

Family dispute leads to charges

NORTH STORMONT — SD&G OPP responded to a family dispute in North Stormont, at 8:30 p.m. on April 18. Investigation revealed that an adult accused had caused damage to the residence and assaulted the victim.

A 49-year-old accused of Port Perry, was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Mischief

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on June 30.

 

Domestic assault

SOUTH GLENGARRY — SD&G OPP responded to a report of domestic situation in South Glengarry, shortly after 1 p.m. on April 19. Investigation revealed that a couple assaulted one another during an altercation.

The 25-year-old accused of L’ile Bizard, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Two count of Assault

A 26-year-old accused of South Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 7.

 

Dispute leads to charges

NORTH GLENGARRY — SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a dispute in North Glengarry  shortly after 7 p.m. on April 19. Investigation revealed that an adult accused had assaulted and threatened an adult victim.

Gilles Lacombe, 37, of North Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Uttering Threats

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on July 8.
