WINCHESTER — All residents and staff at Dundas Manor will be tested for the COVID-19 virus, this Friday, May 1. Test results will be available early next week. There have been no confirmed cases at Dundas Manor to date.

“This proactive testing is being done in partnership with the Eastern Ontario Health Unit and local paramedics,” notes Susan Poirier, Administrator. “We are taking every precaution to keep our residents and staff safe. This is a directive from the Chief Medical Officer of Health to test all residents and staff of every long-term care home in the province.”

Some long-term care home residents and long-term care staff in the province have received positive COVID-19 results despite having no symptoms. Dundas Manor is taking every infection control precaution and has prepared isolation rooms should they be needed as part of the safety protocols.  A COVID-19 outbreak is declared when one staff or one resident has a positive test for the virus.
