North Dundas adult charged after assaulting youth during family dispute

SD&G — SD&G OPP officers conducted speed traps between April 30 – May 5, and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits were seized for seven days in accordance with policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

SOUTH DUNDAS — A 19-year-old from Port Hope was stopped travelling 159km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, in South Dundas shortly before 10 a.m. on April 30. 

SOUTH STORMONT — A 21-year-old driver from Montreal was stopped shortly before 4:30 p.m. on May 2, travelling 166km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, in South Stormont. 

NORTH GLENGARRY — A 17-year-old driver was stopped travelling 126km/h on Cty. Rd 45, a 70 km/h zone, shortly after 12:30 p.m. in North Glengarry on May 3. , 

SOUTH STORMONT — A Quebec driver was stopped travelling 153km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, shortly after 1 p.m. on May 5, in South Stormont. 

 

Family dispute leads to charges

NORTH DUNDAS — According to police an adult assaulted a youth during a family dispute around 9:30 p.m. on April 30, in North Dundas.  

A 34-year-old of North Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;

–             Assault cause bodily harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle

–             Assault

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on July 7.

 

Impaired drivers

SOUTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP responded to a traffic complaint on HWY. 401 in SOuth Dundas shortly after 3:30 p.m. on May 3.

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Zlatko Jazic, 55, of Courtice, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – plus 80

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 28.

NORTH STORMONT — A 63-year-old male was charged with impaired driving shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Cty. Rd. 43 in North Stormont, on May 5, after SD&G OPP received a traffic complaint.  

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Gary Bradford of South Stormont, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – plus 80

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 20.
