OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service Break and Enter unit has charged a man with three distinct Break and Enters.
A man was captured on surveillance cameras breaking the front lock of a business located on the 2500 block of Bank Street and enter the business around 9 p.m. on April 17. The man was startled by the alarm system and fled the scene without taking anything.
A man attempted to enter a business located on the 700 block of Bank Street, shortly after 1 a.m. on May 3. Again, he got startled by the alarm and pedestrians approaching the business. He fled the scene without gaining access.
A man broke into another business located on the 1-100 block of Elgin Street, shortly before 2 a.m. on May 9, by forcing one of the side doors. He entered the business, rummaged through some drawers before leaving with a sweater belonging to an employee.
The Ottawa Police Break and Enter Unit charged Ahmed Metwally, 31, of Ottawa, with:
• Two counts of Breaking and Entering
• Attempts to commit a dual procedure offence
• Two counts of Breach of Probation
• Failure to comply with a release order
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
