75-year-old woman charged with impaired driving, failure to surrender licence, and driving with liquor readily available

Impaired drivers

EDWARDSBURGH — Grenville OPP received a traffic complaint on County Road 2 in Edwardsburgh, shortly after 2 p.m. on May 8. The driver was spoken to and an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized at the scene.

Heather Sullivan, 75, from Prescott was arrested and charged with;

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs Criminal Code s.320.14(1)(a)
  • Driver fail to surrender licence Highway Traffic Act 33(1)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available Liquor Licence Act 32(1)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Brockville on September 4.

AUGUSTA — A driver was stopped by Grenville OPP shortly after 8 p.m. on May 8, traveling on Highway 401 near North Augusta. The driver was spoken to and an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized at the scene. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Adam Aspres, 45, from Stoney Creek was arrested and charged with;

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs Criminal Code s.320.14(1)(a)
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) Criminal Code s.320.14(1)(b)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Brockville on July 10.

 

Driver charged after collision

NORTH GRENVILLE — Grenville OPP received a report of a motor vehicle collision at the off ramp on Highway 416 in North Grenville, shortly before 8 a.m. on May 11. The driver was spoken to before being transported to the detachment for further investigation.

Hassen Abdi, 29, from Ottawa was arrested and charged with;

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand Criminal Code s.320.15(1)
  • Obstruct Peace Officer Criminal Code s.129(a)
  • Failure to Comply with Recognizance Criminal Code 145(3)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 Criminal Code 354(1)(a)
  • Driving while under suspension Highway Traffic Act 53(1)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Brockville on August 22.
