Pedestrian fatality on CN Rail Line, near Iroquois

IROQUOIS — SD&G OPP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train on CN Railway line shortly before 11 p.m. on May 12, near Marine Station Rd., South Dundas.

A 54-year-old man from Prescott, received life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. No foul play is suspected. A post mortem is being conducted. The victim’s name is not being released due to the nature of the case.

OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Chief Coroner assisted with the investigation.

Trains were stopped on the line during the investigation, but rail traffic later resumed.
