Impaired driving
ROCKLAND – Russell County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 17 in Rockland, shortly before 5:15 p.m. on May 14.
Krista Deborah Lois Bullis, 32, of Rockland, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a)
CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – A Russell County OPP officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Joanisse Road in Clarence-Rockland shortly before 2:45 a.m. on May 17. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was used on the driver.
As a result of the investigation, Tyler Blake McQuaid, 25, of Ottawa, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a) and
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b)
Both motorists received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicles were also impounded for seven days.
The motorists are scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on July 22.
Super speeders
THE NATION – A Russell County OPP officer was conducting stationary radar enforcement on Route 500 West shortly after 8 p.m. on May 12, in The Nation. The officer observed a vehicle travelling 133 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old, from Embrun, was charged with:
- Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed HTA 172(1)
RUSSELL – A Russell County OPP officer was conducting moving radar enforcement on Eadie Road in Russell shortly after 7:30 a.m. on May 13. The officer observed a vehicle travelling 146 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year old, from Kenmore, was charged with:
- Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed HTA 172(1)
EMBRUN – While conducting radar enforcement on St-Guillaume Road in Embrun a Russell County OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling 110 km/h in a 50 km/h zone at 10 p.m. on May 16.
As a result of the investigation a 45-year-old, from Cantley, Quebec was charged with:
- Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed HTA 172(1)
The motorists received a seven day driver’s license suspension and their vehicles were also impounded for seven days.
