Man faces numerous charges after striking vehicle with baseball bat and assaulting police officers

NORTH GLENGARRY — SD&G OPP officers responded to a disturbance at a residence at 9:30 p.m. on May 16, where the accused was striking a vehicle with a baseball bat in North Glengarry Township. The officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and an individual refused to follow the officer’s directions and resisted officers during the arrest. The accused also assaulted officers that responded. Further investigation revealed the accused had threatened individuals at the location.

Roch Richer, 57, from North Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

–             Resist Peace Officer

–             Two counts of Assault of a peace officer 

–             Criminal harassment

–            Two counts of  Uttering Threats

–             Mischief

The accused was held in custody for bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice.
