Man charged after striking vehicle with bat; super speeders

Mischief charge

NORTH GLENGARRY – A 28-year-old was charged after striking a vehicle with a bat. SD&G OPP responded to a report of a disturbance on Main St., Alexandria shortly after 9 p.m on May 26. Investigation revealed that an adult had caused damage to the victim’s vehicle by striking it with a bat.

Jade Disotell of North Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

–             Mischief – destroy or damage property

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on August 5.


Super speeders

SD&G – SD&G OPP conducted speed measuring enforcement between May 21-26 and intercepted several vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

SOUTH STORMONT – A 21-year-old Ontario driver was stopped traveling 158 km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100 km/h zone, at 4:40 p.m. on May 21 in South Dundas. 

SOUTH DUNDAS – A 20-year-old driver from Anjou, Quebec, was stopped traveling 174 km/h on Hwy 401, a 100 km/h zone, in South Dundas shortly before 8 p.m. on May 21. 

NORTH STORMONT – A 56-year-old driver from Orleans was stopped traveling 133 km/hr on Hwy. 138, an 80 km/h zone, in North Stormont, shortly before 11:30 p.m. on May 23.  

SOUTH STORMONT – A 43-year-old driver from Ramla, Israel, was stopped traveling 157 km/h in South Stormont on Hwy. 401, a 100 km/h zone, shortly after 9 a.m. on May 24. 

SOUTH DUNDAS – A 23-year-old driver from Lachine, Que. was stopped traveling 160km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100 km/h zone, in South Dundas, shortly before 11 p.m. on May 24. 

SOUTH GLENGARRY – A 34-year-old driver from South Glengarry was stopped traveling 135km/h on Cty. Rd. 20, an 80km/h zone, shortly before 7:30 a.m. on May 23.
