CHESTERVILLE — Bereft of an actual stage during these COVID-19 days, the Veinotte brothers of Chesterville have turned to a virtual one as part of the new normal.

The local trio, aka Sons of Gord, return with their eighth Facebook Live show, starting 7:30 p.m. this evening, June 3. From inside the Veinotte family home on Emma Street, Conor, 21, Liam, 18, and Gavin, 16, have been live-streaming their combined talents every Wednesday night since April 8.

Sons of Gord was formed seven years ago. They’re back under the same roof these days after the elder two brothers returned early from post-secondary studies because of the pandemic; Liam attended Dalhousie University in Halifax while Conor was away on exchange at the UK’s University of Nottingham.

Conor says the live performances have garnered a great reception to date. “We figured we’re all together, and there’s a lot of bad news out there so we should try and spread some positivity and brighten people’s weeks,” he explains, adding they intend to carry on live-streaming weekly “at least until the lockdown ends.”
