No foul play suspected after 18-year-old drowns at ‘Trout Pond’

SOUTH DUNDAS — An 18-year-old man has died after drowning at Challies Trout Pond near Williamsburg shortly after 7:30 p.m. on June 5.

SD&G OPP responded to the quarry and assisted with CPR efforts, bystanders had rescued the 18-year-old male from the water after a suspected drowning in the water.

Cornwall SD&G Paramedics attended and transported the male to hospital. The male later died at hospital. No foul play is suspected in the death.

The Office of the Chief Coroner will continue the investigation.
