Stolen SUVs recovered
SOUTH GLENGARRY – While conducting a traffic stop Highway Safety Division OPP intercepted a stolen vehicle around 8 a.m. June 10, on Highway 401, South Glengarry. According to police the investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a stolen Black Lexus RX5 2016 SUV from Toronto.
Idriss Balaz, 25, of Montreal, was arrested and charged with;
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 25.
SOUTH STORMONT – A stolen Black Lexus DZG 2018 SUV from Toronto was recovered during a traffic stop on Hwy. 401 shortly before 10:30 a.m. on June 8, in South Stormont. The driver then fled from officers, but was located shortly after.
Side Tabe, 19, of Montreal, was arrested and charged with;
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
– Flight from peace officer
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 25.
Traffic stop results in charges
NORTH DUNDAS – A 26-year-old driver was stopped for a traffic violation at 12 p.m., June 10, on Howard St, North Dundas. A check of the driver revealed his driving privileges were disqualified stemming from previous driving related offences.
Jordan Cooper, 26, of North Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;
– Operation while prohibited
– Driving under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
– Drive motor vehicle – Improper licence (HTA)
– Operate motor vehicle no insurance (CAIA)
– Drive motor vehicle – No plates (HTA)
– Fail to surrender permit (HTA)
The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on September 1.
