Traffic stop results in charges

NORTH DUNDAS – A 39-year-old driver was stopped travelling 116 km/h on Hwy 31, an 80 km/h zone, shortly after 7:30 p.m. June 6, in North Dundas. A check of the driver revealed his driving privileges were disqualified stemming from previous driving related offences.

Matthew Lewis, 39, of Ottawa, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while prohibited

– Speeding (Highway Traffic Act)

– Drive motor vehicle – no licence (HTA)

The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on September 1.

 

Impaired drivers

SOUTH GLENGARRY – SD&G OPP responded to an ATV collision at a residence on County Road 19, shortly after 1:45 a.m. in South Glengarry.

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Dominic Riley, 22, of South Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – plus 80

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on June 7.

 

Impaired driver

SOUTH GLENGARRY – A 40-year-old driver was charged after SD&G OPP received a report of an erratic driver on John Street shortly after 10 a.m. on June 7, South Glengarry. Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of a drug.

Louise Chenier, 40, of South Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – Drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on August 5.
