Grenville OPP seeking to identify perfume thief

NORTH GRENVILLE — Grenville OPP are looking to identify a male after he stole $900 worth of perfume from a store on Hwy. 43 in Kemptville around 9:30 a.m. on June 9. Police say they are looking for a male individual who wore a black mask. 

Mischief

PRESCOTT — A window was damaged at a residence on Prince St., Prescott, on June 9. According to Grenville OPP they believe a sling-shot was used to launch ball bearings, causing damage to a window. No one was injured during the event.

Theft of gas

AUGUSTA — A local gas company located a gas leak at a property on County Road 26, Augusta, on May 26. Investigation revealed that the gas meter had been tampered with. Daniel Gough, 56, from Augusta was charged with:

  • Theft of Electricity or Gas – Under contrary to s. 326(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Brockville court on August 21.

 

Speeders beware

Grenville OPP officers had three stunt drivers in three hours on Highway 401 in the Augusta Township area. Their speeds ranged from 155 km/h to 163 km/h. All three had the licences suspended, their cars towed and were given a summons to appear in court.  

According to Grenville OPP, of the 335 deaths on OPP-patrolled roads in 2019, 64 were speed-related. Poor behaviours and decisions are behind a significant number of the fatal collisions we investigate.
