Several guns seized and four individuals arrested in firearms smuggling investigation

GLEN WALTER — Members of the Cornwall Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Cornwall Detachment were involved in a firearms trafficking investigation on Wednesday June 10. A man was seen carrying a duffle bag and dropping it off by a boat in the Glen Walter area, then getting into a vehicle. 

Four individuals were arrested as a result of a traffic stop of the vehicle. Police also seized several firearms believed to have been smuggled into Canada from the United States. 

As the investigation is still ongoing, further details will be provided once the investigation is completed and all appropriate charges are laid.
