Foul play not suspected in North Dundas man’s death at Morrisburg docks

MORRISBURG — A 43-year-old North Dundas man lost his life at the Morrisburg docks Friday evening, June 19.

Bystanders pulled the man from the St. Lawrence River after he suffered a suspected medical complication in the water, according to the SD&G OPP,  whose officers rushed to the reported drowning shortly after 8:30 p.m. to assist with CPR.  Paramedics with the Cornwall SDG Paramedic also arrived to carry on the effort, but the individual was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

His name has not been released.

Foul play is not suspected in the death, according to the detachment, and the Office of the Chief Coroner continues to investigate.
