15-year-old crashes into two cop cars after stealing family vehicle and fleeing from police

Dangerous driver – Flight from police 

SOUTH STORMONT — A 15-year-old stole a vehicle from a family member’s residence in South Stormont, shortly after 12:30 a.m. on June 18. Police say they located the vehicle and attempted to stop it on County Road 12, South Stormont.

The vehicle failed to stop and continued on so officers used a tire deflation device, but the vehicle continued to move, striking two OPP cruisers. The vehicle then left the roadway on County Road 12 and the driver fled on foot. Officers located the suspect a short distance away with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit. There were no injuries in the incident.  

A 15-year-old male from South Stormont, was arrested and is charged with:

– Flight while pursued by peace officers

– Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle

– Three counts of Assault peace officer with a weapon

– Two counts of Mischief over $5000

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court.
