IROQUOIS — A 35-year-old male has been taken into custody after an incident that occurred over several hours last night, starting around 11:30 p.m. Police say OPP Tactics and Response Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) Canine (K9) and OPP Crisis Negotiators were called in to assist at a residence on Dundas St., Iroquois.
Officers entered the home early this morning, June 23, and the 35-year-old male was taken into custody without incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
There was no public safety risk during this incident.

He was arrested and charged with;
– Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
– 10 counts of Mischief
– Assault cause bodily harm
– Assault
– Two counts of Fail to comply with conditions of a undertaking
– Killing or injuring animals
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court.
