GREELY — The Greely Community Association (GCA) has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Canada Day celebration and fireworks at the Greely Community Centre.
According to the GCA they have always held exciting events and fabulous fireworks that attracted thousands of residents to our Community Centre. Their Board of Directors appreciates the tremendous support of residents and businesses who were ready to assist for our Canada Day events.
Instead the group has planned a tribute to the Frontline Heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, July 1, Canada Day, a community drive-by of vehicles representing Fire, Police, Paramedics, Medical Staff, and Essential Service Providers will flow through streets and neighbourhoods of Greely. Families are invited to come to the end of their driveways, while social distancing from others, to salute those who have so valiantly served us.
The parade will commence at 1 p.m. from the Parkway Road Pentecostal Church for their drive through the Village.
