Dirt bike driver at large after hit and run
NORTH GRENVILLE — Grenville OPP are investigating after a dirt bike collided with a vehicle on Bolton Rd, North Grenville, shortly after 9 p.m. on July 10. The driver of the vehicle contacted police after being struck while turning into a private drive. According to police the dirt bike driver had been driving down the wrong side of the roadway, without lights on, and struck the turning vehicle. The bike and rider fled the scene before police arrived. The rider was described as being in his mid-thirties, some facial hair, wearing a grey hoodie and driving possibly a green bike. The rider may also have sustained injury to his left knee.
Another break-in at former NGHS
KEMPTVILLE Grenville OPP are investigating after another break-in at the former North Grenville High School, occurred around 8 p.m. on July 10. This is the fourth break-in/mischief attempt since the beginning of the year. Investigation indicated that culprits gained entry to the property. Residents are asked to be on the lookout for anything or anyone suspicious in the area.
Impaired driver charged
PRESCOTT A 49-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving after a traffic complaint was reported to Grenville OPP. Officers responded to the call shortly before 11 p.m. on July 6. The driver was spoken to and an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized at the scene. The driver was arrested and taken to Prescott Detachment for further testing. .
Alexandra Neelin, from Brockville was arrested and charged with;
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs – Criminal Code (CC) s.320.14(1)(a)
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – CC s.320.14(1)(b)
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Brockville court, on September 11.
