Impaired driver charged following traffic complaint; Super speeders

Impaired driver charged 

NORTH GLENGARRY — A driver was charged with impaired driving after police intercepted the vehicle, following a traffic complaint, shortly before 10 p.m. on July 18, on Main St, Alexandria. 

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Roch Richer, 58, of North Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Resist peace officer

– Driving under suspension – HTA

– Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor – LLA

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on October 7.

 

Super Speeders

SD&G — SD&G OPP intercepted the following vehicles while conducting a speed measuring enforcement in SD&G between July 16 and 23. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A 17-year-old male from South Glengarry was stopped while traveling 151km/h on Cty. Rd. 20, an 80km/h zone, in South Glengarry.  

SOUTH DUNDAS — A 33-year-old driver from Montreal was stopped while travelling 163km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, in South Dundas, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on July 17. 

SOUTH DUNDAS — A 37-year-old female driver from Verdun, Que. was stopped travelling 161km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, South Dundas, shortly after 1 p.m. on July 22. 

SOUTH STORMONT — A 36-year-old male driver from Drummondville was stopped travelling 155km/h on Hwy. 401 in South Stormont, a 100 km/h zone, shortly before 10 a.m. on July 22. 

SOUTH DUNDAS — A 32-year-old male driver from Mississauga, was stopped travelling 151km/h, a 100 km/h zone, on Hwy. 401, in South Dundas, shortly before 4 p.m. on July 22. 

SOUTH DUNDAS — A 22-year-old male Ontario driver was stopped traveling 159km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, shortly after 12:30 p.m. on July 23.
