Slew of drugs seized during search warrant in Prescott

PRESCOTT — The East Region OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the East Region Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at an apartment of King Street West, Prescott. Police seized a quantity of speed pills, crystal meth, cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, codeine, hydromorphone and psilocybin (magic mushrooms) with an approximate street value of just over $9,000. A quantity of Canadian Currency was also seized.

Travis Towns-Chapman, 29, from Prescott, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Crystal Methamphetamine, Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) section 5(2)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Tracking – Cocaine, CDSA section 5(2) 
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Tracking – Oxycodone, CDSA section 5(2) 
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Tracking – speed pills, CDSA section 5(2) 
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Hydro Morp, CDSA to section 4(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Codeine, CDSA section 4(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule 111 Substance – Psilocybin, CDSA section 4(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Other Drug, Contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine, CDSA section 4(1)
  • Possession of Weapons Dangerous – bear spray and knives, Criminal Code (CC) section 88. 
  • Unauthorized Prohibited Weapon to wit Conducted Energy Weapons (Tasers) CC section 91(2)  
  • Two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition while Prohibited CC section 117.01(1)
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance – address notification CC section 145(5)(a)

The Accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.

Kyra Dumm, aged 24, from Prescott, was charged with the following;

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Tracking – Cocaine, Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Two counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Tracking – Other Drugs, Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose CC 88
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon CC 91(2)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Tracking – Other Drugs Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Other Drug, Contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

The Accused will appear in Brockville court at a later date.
