Impaired drivers charged

SOUTH STORMONT – A 50-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving, after police intercepted his vehicle on 45th Parallel Drive, shortly before 1:45 a.m. on June 28, in South Stormont.  

Kevin Letford of South Stormont, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – plus 80

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on October 20.

 

NORTH DUNDAS – A 31-year-old male is facing numerous driving charges after SD&G OPP stopped him for travelling 143km/h in a 80km/h zone, shortly before 10:30 p.m. on July 28, in North Dundas.  

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Nicholas Wheeler of South Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while Impaired – alcohol

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – plus 80

– Race motor vehicle – Excessive speed (Highway Traffic Act)

– Drive motor vehicle – No licence (HTA)

– Drive motor vehicle – Not equipped with ignition interlock device (HTA)

– Use plate not authorized for vehicle (HTA)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on October 6.

Super speeders

SD&G – SD&G OPP conducted speed measuring enforcement between July 24 and 28, in SD&G, and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven days in accordance with policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

SOUTH DUNDAS – A 27-year-old male driver from North York was stopped travelling 151km/h on Hwy 401, a 100km/h zone, shortly before 3:30 p.m. on July 24, South Dundas.

SOUTH DUNDAS – A 34-year-old male driver from Ottawa was stopped travelling 151km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, shortly after 9:15 a.m. on July 26, South Dundas

SOUTH STORMONT – A 26-year-old female Ontario driver, was stopped travelling 162km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100 km/h zone, shortly before 1 p.m. on July 26, South Stormont. 

SOUTH DUNDAS – An 18-year-old female driver from Quebec, was stopped travelling 155km/h on Hwy. 401, a 100km/h zone, shortly after 2:30 p.m. on July 26, South Dundas. 

SOUTH DUNDAS – A 17-year-old male driver from South Stormont was stopped travelling 120km/h on South Branch Rd., an 80km/h zone, shortly before 1 p.m. on July 28, South Dundas.
