OPP Street Crime Unit seizes drugs, arrests two in Iroquois

IROQUOIS — Police arrested two people and seized a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone, and other items associated with drug trafficking after executing a search warrant here yesterday.

South Dundas residents Don Perkins, 38, and Courtland Merkley, 24, are both charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, according to the Ontario Provincial Police. Perkins faces an additional two extra charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Officers with the Street Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit took part in the Sept. 10 bust on Caldwell Drive.

Perkins was released from custody to appear Nov. 3 in Morrisburg court.

Remanded in custody, Merkley is due to appear by video before the same court at a later date.
