ROCKLAND — A man was arrested after a Russell County OPP officer noticed him acting strangely by the side of Poupart Rd., shortly after 10 p.m. on Aug. 31.
Following an investigation, Corey Felteau, 51, of Rockland has been charged with Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence, and failure to comply with release order, according to police.
The accused is scheduled to appear Oct. 14 in L’Orignal court.
Theft complaint leads to charges
CASSELMAN — A man has been charged after allegedly stealing a part from a random vehicle parked at a Principale Street business.
Russell County OPP officers responded to the theft complaint shortly after 4 p.m. on Sept. 1, arresting Casselman resident Jason Denis Edward Nixon, 40, after an investigation.
Police say Nixon is charged with theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000. He’s scheduled to appear Nov. 18 in L’Orginal court.
Casselman resident charged with numerous offences
CASSELMAN — Russell County OPP officers responded Sept. 6 to a disturbance on Calypso Street, site of a physical altercation between two adults shortly before 8:30 p.m.
As a result of the investigation, Casselman resident Mario Parent, 28, was arrested and charged with: Assault; Mischief Under $5,000; Fail to comply with Probation Order; and Failure to comply with release order. The accused was held for bail.
Motorists charged with impaired
ROCKLAND — An Ontario driver was arrested Sept. 5 on Alma Street in Rockland after being stopped by a Russell County OPP officer shortly before 1:45 a.m.
During the investigation, the officer utilized the Approved Screening Device (ASD) on the motorist. After being transported to detachment for further testing, the driver was charged with alcohol and drug-impaired driving charges.
At 6:45 p.m. the same day, a Rockland driver was arrested by Russell OPP officers responding to a traffic complaint on Laporte Street.
As a result of the ensuing investigation, Marc-Antoine Leblond, 30, of Rockland was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs; and
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Both motorists received an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension, with their vehicles also impounded for seven days. They’re also scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court at a later date.
