SOUTH STORMONT — A 48-year-old South Stormont man has been charged with assaulting and sexually assaulting a female victim during a Sept. 25 domestic situation.
He was arrested after SD&G OPP officers responded to the situation shortly before midnight. Police say their investigation led to two counts of assault plus a count of sexual assault against the accused, who was held in custody pending a Cornwall court bail hearing.
27-year-old man charged
SOUTH STORMONT — A 27-year-old South Stormont has been with assaulting, sexually assaulting and attempting to strangle a female victim during a Sept. 26 domestic situation.
He was arrested after SD&G OPP officers responded to the situation around 3 p.m. Police say their investigation led to four counts of sexual assault plus a count of assault against the man, who was also charged with overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person.
The accused was released to appear Nov. 24 in Cornwall court.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Ontario court of justice in Cornwall on November 24, 2020.
57-year-old man charged in South Glengarry sexual assault
SOUTH GLENGARRY — A 57-year-old South Glengarry man was arrested Sept. 22 on a charge of sexual assault, following an investigation by SD&G OPP officers.
The accused was known to the victim, according to the detachment.
Released to appear Dec. 8 in Cornwall court, his name is being withheld to protect the identity the victim.

NORTH GLENGARRY — Sometime overnight Sept. 25-26, culprits removed a patio heater, receiver and tires from a shed and garage on Main Street, North Glengarry.
SD&G OPP officers responded to the scene the following morning.
Drugs seized in North Glengarry traffic stop
NORTH GLENGARRY — A Cornwall man faces drug trafficking and other charges after police stopped a car in response to a gas theft on Main Street, Sept. 26.
The SD&G OPP report seizing a quantity of methamphetamine after pulling over the vehicle shortly after 8:50 p.m., arresting Jesse Donati of Cornwall.
According to the detachment, Donati is charged with: possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of Trafficking; possession of a controlled substance (two counts) and theft under $5,000. He also faces charges for having both cannabis and open liquor available while being in control of a vehicle.
The accused was released Dec. 2 to appear in Alexandria court.
Multiple charges following traffic stop
CORNWALL — A missed red light on Brookdale Avenue led to the seizure of cocaine and a number charges against a 60-year-old motorist whose alleged traffic infraction caught the attention of police.
SD&G OPP officers pulled over the involved vehicle shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 26, prompting the suspended driver to flee on foot, only to be apprehended a short distance away. The detachment reports confiscating a quantity of cocaine and arresting Robert Kaufmann, 60, of South Glengarry.
The accused is charged with: possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking; dangerous operation; obstruct peace officer; failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking; operation while prohibited; and driving while under suspension.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
Impaired charges in North Stormont
NORTH STORMONT — A North Stormont man faces drug- and alcohol-impaired driving charges following a Sept. 22 traffic complaint.
SD&G OPP officers located the involved vehicle in a Victoria Street driveway after responding to the call around 6:30 p.m.
The detachment reports the arrest of Kenneth MacNeil, 56, who was also charged with driving with liquor readily available. The accused was released to appear Nov. 17 in Cornwall court.
The OPP also reminds the public that a 90-day automatic driver’s licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment accompanies any impaired driving charge.
