SOUTH STORMONT — The SD&G OPP is expressing gratitude to an unidentified man and woman who assisted with extracting a family from a vehicle rollover yesterday in South Stormont.

A husband (behind the wheel), wife and a seven-year-old child were inside the vehicle that flipped Oct. 12 into a deep ditch along the Long Sault Parkway. An SD&G OPP officer responded to the scene around 3 p.m. and was in the process of helping the family out when a man and woman stopped to lend a hand.

Their act “did not go unnoticed” and was “very much appreciated” by the officer who had wanted to thank the pair, according to the detachment. The names of the Good Samaritans, however, “unfortunately were not obtained.”

No members of the family were injured in the single-vehicle collision.
