Violent home invaders flee residence after dog bite

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A dog may have helped to end a violent home invasion early this morning in South Glengarry.

Two males broke into the First Street address and assaulted the lone resident inside. But the duo fled on foot after “at least” one of them was bitten by the canine inside the home, according to the SD&G OPP, which responded to the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. Oct. 14.

The OPP Canine Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit are assisting the SD&G OPP Crime Unit with the investigation.

The detachment says the attackers were dressed identically in black cargo pants, black hoodies and red face coverings. Both are believed to be white with slim builds.
