Join the Sisters for Life cancer fundraising team at their ‘Gala 2.0’ livestream

All funds raised will be matched by other donors!

FINCH — Sisters for Life is a small team of determined local women who have been fundraising to fight cancer since 2013. Over the years, the team has been graced with various talented and passionate members all focused on a common goal. The team’s efforts and the immense generosity of community members and businesses have resulted in a total of $131,632.38 being raised to date.

This year, the Sisters for Life team has continued this mission despite the obstacles presented by COVID-19.  Their main in-person event, the Ladies Christmas Gala — normally held in November each year in the North Stormont Township village of Finch — could not go forward in 2020 but that has not stopped this team. They are inviting you to join them as they embark on their first “virtual” gala hosted between November 15th to November 20th through Facebook Live.  Gala 2.0 – “Home for the Holidays” offers participants a chance to continue with the Gala tradition from the comfort of their homes.

Participants will connect with a wonderful community of cancer fighters; learn about leading edge research; and try your luck at contests, an online auction, and a chance to win an $800 Gift basket filled with treasures — all for a minimum donation of $20 (tax receipt provided). With the generous support of Nelson Zandbergen of Nation Valley News, and Storm Internet Services —  the show will go on.

Organizers are also thrilled to announce that this year they have a one of a kind opportunity: Generous donors have stepped forward and pledged to match all funds raised. “That’s right — this is a chance to double the impact of your donation,” they exclaim

The team includes Joy Krol, Monique Rutley, Susan Casselman, Angie Beehler, Kim Casselman, Meghan-Tia Robertson, Kaitlyn Beehler, Natalie Dawson and Maureen Robertson.
