ND Wears Pink for Breast Cancer on Friday

Last Friday, the staff won their challenge of reaching 100% participation on our Camouflage and Country day. There were many teachers dressed in head to toe camo or country gear. It is no surprise they were able to beat the challenge, considering how involved and dedicated they are to our school. No student grades have reached the 75% mark yet, but the grade 7’s came close with 64%. Keep up the great spirit ND!

We have another spirit day coming up this week. Friday is pink day for breast cancer awareness. One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lives. Though not usually fatal, it is a terrible experience to have to go through. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and this spirit day is our way of showing support for all the people in our lives who have suffered with this disease.

On Friday, October 16, Delaney Johnson and I represented ND at the first virtual UCDSB Student Senate meeting. In the meeting, we were able to speak with the representatives from other schools in our school board. We shared some of the Student Council’s ideas for virtual school events and learned that other schools had tried them and were successful. This was great news, and the Student Council cannot wait to execute some of these plans. Stay tuned for exciting virtual events to boost student morale!
